Not a Consumer Reporting Agency. King County Criminal History is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Neither site content nor a linked third-party tool may be used for credit, employment, tenant, insurance, or any other FCRA-regulated decision. Use Washington State Patrol or an appropriate FCRA-compliant provider for an authorized official process.
Accuracy of Information
Government hours, addresses, fees, phone numbers, forms, and portal behavior can change. Court and agency records also change when new documents arrive or a matter is corrected, vacated, sealed, or otherwise updated. Reasonable efforts are made to keep this resource accurate, but no detail is guaranteed to be complete or current. Confirm practical details with the relevant King County or Washington office before visiting, filing, or paying.
An Arrest Is Not a Conviction
A booking or arrest proves only that a custody event was recorded. It does not establish guilt. Prosecutors may decline or alter charges, courts may dismiss counts, and a case may end without conviction. An old copy can also omit a later disposition or legal remedy. RCW 10.97.040 requires available dispositions to accompany certain disseminated arrest and charge information, subject to timing exceptions, but a short-lived gap can still occur. Check the final disposition with the court and originating agency.
Use a record as a lead for official verification, never as a verdict about a person or proof of a current offense.
Verify With the Official Source
Only the custodian can supply an official or certified record. King County court dates and judgments belong with the proper clerk. Sheriff reports belong with the King County Sheriff's Office. Jail status and detention history belong with the Department of Adult and Juvenile Detention. Washington State Patrol maintains the statewide criminal-history compilation, and the registering agency maintains public registry details.
Not Legal Advice
Nothing published here is legal advice. General descriptions of Washington record law cannot answer how a pending charge, warrant, judgment, registration duty, vacation, deletion, or sealing rule applies to one case. A licensed Washington attorney should address individual legal questions.
Third-Party Search Tools
Outside companies operate some search boxes. King County Criminal History does not control their results, matching methods, prices, retention rules, or privacy practices. A result may be incomplete, stale, or connected to the wrong person. The same FCRA restrictions stated above apply to those tools.
Outbound Links
Links lead to King County offices, Washington courts and agencies, registry resources, and other destinations. Each outside site controls its own content and availability. Inclusion of a link does not guarantee or adopt the destination's information.
No Records on This Site
This website does not host criminal-history files, court dockets, arrest reports, jail rosters, warrant lists, rap sheets, or sex offender registry profiles. It identifies the offices and portals that maintain those records. An actual document or live status must come from the issuing agency.
