Questions about an official King County criminal record belong with the government office that created or maintains it. Court papers, sheriff reports, jail records, and statewide criminal-history responses have separate custodians. The contacts below route each request to the right official channel in Seattle, the county seat, or to the relevant Washington agency. King County Criminal History is privately operated and cannot receive a filing, retrieve a record, or change an agency file.

This Is Not a Government Office. King County Criminal History cannot obtain official records, perform official checks, correct files, or accept a court motion or public-records request.

Need an Official Record?

Use the custodian tied to the record type. King County offices do not all share one public-request queue.

  • Court case files: use King County criminal court case records or contact the Superior Court Clerk at 206-296-9300; the Seattle Clerk is at 516 Third Ave., Room E-609, Seattle, WA 98104, and the Kent Clerk is at 401 Fourth Ave. N., Room 2C, Kent, WA 98032. Public counters are generally open weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with limited service periods.
  • Sheriff incident and arrest reports: contact KCSO Public Disclosure Unit, 516 Third Ave., Room W-116, Seattle, WA 98104, 206-263-2103, Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., or submit through GovQA.
  • Jail and incarceration records: contact King County Department of Adult and Juvenile Detention at 206-477-5130 or mail Records Request, 500 Fifth Ave., Seattle, WA 98104. Its GovQA tiles distinguish incarceration records from jail operations records.
  • State criminal history: order a WATCH name-and-date-of-birth response or a fingerprint-based self-review from the Washington State Patrol Criminal Records Division.
  • Police incident reports: request the file from the police or other agency that wrote it; KCSO is not the custodian for every city or airport report.
  • Vacating or sealing: file with the Superior, District, or municipal court that entered the judgment or holds the record.
